COTONOU, Benin — The Government of Benin has approved a nationwide digital public procurement system aimed at reducing opacity and corruption in the contract awarding process.
The new e-procurement platform will digitize bidding, tracking, and awarding of public tenders, simplifying access for businesses and ensuring better monitoring.
“This reform enhances fairness and trust in how public funds are managed,” said Digital Economy Minister Aurélie Adam Soulé.
Benin has already digitized more than 1,000 public services since 2016. The procurement reform is part of a broader e-governance agenda designed to make government more efficient and accountable.
Analysts say the move will likely improve Benin’s rankings in business competitiveness and governance indices.
