ACCRA, Ghana — In a significant move to bolster Ghana’s digital economy, AmCham Ghana and the U.S.-Africa Business Center have initiated high-level discussions with Ghana’s Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George. The engagement, held at the Ministry’s head office in Accra, aimed to explore deeper collaboration around digital innovation, agriculture tech, and capacity building.
Leading the delegation were Kendra Gaither, President of the U.S.-Africa Business Center, and Dr. Guevera Yao, Vice President, who both underscored the importance of developing Africa’s innovation ecosystem through strategic partnerships and workforce development.
The discussions centered on key areas where Ghana can scale digital infrastructure while enabling startups to thrive through training, policy alignment, and access to markets. The Minister shared his ministry’s roadmap for the digital economy, highlighting plans to create a startup-friendly environment rooted in global best practices and regulatory clarity.

“Our goal is to ensure that innovation-led businesses—whether incubated or accelerated—are given every opportunity to meet global standards and scale beyond Ghana,” said Hon. Samuel Nartey George.
The collaboration signals a broader push to integrate agriculture and digital innovation while fostering ecosystems that attract both local and foreign investment.
With Ghana emerging as a hub for African tech advancement, such engagements are critical to aligning public-private initiatives that support job creation, skills training, and technology adoption across sectors.
